A complex safety inspection was successfully performed at the “LatRosTrans” Ltd (LRT) line production control station (LPCS) “Ilūkste” on Thursday, September 10. It was performed in order to make sure that management of the higher danger object does not create threats to the company’s employees, or to the surrounding residents and the environment. In the course of the inspection, the control station was surveyed and documentation was checked. No objections were received from the commission members.

LRT pays special intention to accident risk management, the purpose of which is to reduce or prevent possibility of emergencies or to limit their scope. The company provides automated management of technological processes, which also has an integrated safety system. Up-to-date technological devices and automated management systems have been set up, thinking about how to ensure operative liquidation of consequences in case of an accident.

The management and employees of “LatRosTrans” are aware that general readiness for emergency situations is important to the company, the responsible state and municipal services, as well as the entire society.

Officials of the State Fire and Rescue Service, State Labour Inspectorate, State Environmental Service and the Consumer Rights Protection Centre, as well as the Head of the Ilūkste region Šēdere civil parish and representatives of the State Police participated in the safety inspection.

The inspection was performed in accordance with requirements of the regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers No.532 regarding higher danger objects (“Regulations regarding the Procedures for Industrial Accident Risk Assessment and Risk Reduction Measures”). These regulations apply also to LRT’s structural unit LPCS “Ilūkste” because it stores petroleum products in large quantities.
